Privacy Policy

You upload a photo. Sherlock uses it to run one search and then deletes it (0s retention). Your results are private to your account. We do not publish pages about the people you search, we do not build a face database from submitted photos, and we do not sell your information.

Photos you submit. The image you provide to run a search, used solely for that purpose and then deleted.

Account information. If you create an account, the email and authentication details needed to sign you in and store your own results for you.

Usage and device data. Standard analytics and diagnostics (app version, device type, anonymized usage events) to keep the product working and improve it.

A submitted photo is processed to perform the requested search and then removed from our systems. It is not added to any public index, not attached to anyone else's profile, and not retained to train a permanent recognition database.

To run the searches you request; to store your own results in your account so you can revisit them; to operate, secure, and improve the service; and to comply with the law. We do not use your data to publish public identification pages about anyone.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not publish public, name-keyed pages identifying the people you look up. We do not present simulated searches as real, and we do not post reviews on your behalf.

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Sherlock (for example, the search and infrastructure providers that process a query), under contracts that limit their use of it, and where required by law. Your search results are not shared with other users.

Submitted photos are deleted after each search. Account data is kept while your account is active; you can delete your account and associated results at any time from the app or by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise them, contact us at the address below.

Data is encrypted in transit and protected with industry-standard safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit what we hold and how long we hold it.

Sherlock is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.
